Elektrische Schalt- und Arbeitsrelais sind h\u00e4ufig eingesetzter Komponenten in elektrischen Systemen von Motoren und Installationen. Mit einem elektrischen Relais l\u00e4sst sich mit einem relativ schwachen Steuerstrom ein gro\u00dfer oder anderer Strom ein- oder ausschalten, der oft ein Vielfaches des Steuerstroms betr\u00e4gt. Das macht dicke Kabel unn\u00f6tig und vermeidet unn\u00f6tige Belastungen von Kontakten. Tats\u00e4chlich bet\u00e4tigt man mit einem kleinen Schalter einen gr\u00f6\u00dferen mit Hilfe einer Magnetspule und eines Kontakte. <\/p>\n

Die Kontakte k\u00f6nnen aus Kupfer oder Silber bestehen, wobei Silberkontakte f\u00fcr hohe Str\u00f6me besser geeignet sind.<\/p>\n

Im Allgemeinen wird zuerst die Steuerspannung angegeben, mit der das Relais aktiviert werden kann, z.B. 6 V, 12 V oder 24 V. Dahinter wird der maximale Strom, den das Relais ein- und ausschalten kann, in Ampere angegeben.<\/p>\n

Ein sogenanntes Mini-Relais kann oft nur einen H\u00f6chststrom schalten und vertr\u00e4gt keine Stromspitzen dar\u00fcber. Arbeits- oder Hochleistungsrelais sind, wie der Name schon sagt, eher f\u00fcr gr\u00f6\u00dfere Leistungen gedacht und hier wird oft eine zweite H\u00f6chststromst\u00e4rke (kurz \/ lang) angegeben. Beim Einschalten eines Motors zum Beispiel tritt f\u00fcr kurze Zeit ein hoher Stromspitzenwert auf.<\/p>\n
