Filax wurde mit dem Ziel entwickelt, empfindliche Verbraucher wie z. B. Computer oder moderne Unterhaltungselektronik von einer Wechselstromquelle auf eine andere umzuschalten. Hauptstromquelle ist typischerweise das Stromnetz, ein Generator oder ein Landanschluss. Als alternative Quelle dient f\u00fcr gew\u00f6hnlich ein Wechselrichter. Mit seiner Umschaltzeit von weniger als 20 Millisekunden arbeiten selbst empfindliche Lasten unterbrechungsfrei weiter. Der Filax ist nicht dazu ausgelegt, Haushaltsger\u00e4te mit einem hohen Stromverbrauch, wie z. B. Waschmaschinen oder Elektromotoren, zu versorgen.<\/p>\n
