Weed Filters

A weed filter prevents the impeller pump and your cooling system from being damaged by seaweed, wood or other flotsam and jetsam. Sludge and sand also are sedimented into these pots, so that they do not get into the engine.

A weed filter protects the boat

A weed filter protects:

  • the engine from sludge and sand;
  • the impeller pump and cooling system against weeds, wood and other flotsam and jetsam.

Buying a weed filter: what to take into account

Any questions about buying a weed filter? AB Marine service will help you out.. It is important that the weed filter matches the maximum amount of cooling water that the engine pumps. Pay attention to the flow you need.

How big should the weed filter be?

The connection of the weed filter is usually at least equal to or slightly larger than the connection of the impeller pump. A 19.00 mm connection on the impeller pump therefore requires a weed filter with a connection of at least this size.

Here you’ll find brass fittings, hose clamps, and cooling water hoses.
