Water can dissolve in diesel fuel, especially in warm and humid conditions. This water condenses from the diesel and air in the tank when the temperature drops. It collects at the bottom or forms droplets on the tank wall and in the fuel lines. At any time from the refinery to your tank, microorganisms (bacteria, fungi and scale) can multiply very quickly and form bio-slime. Heat accelerates this growth. When shaken, these organisms can escape from the water and mix with the diesel as slime.<\/p>\n
