Description

VETUS main switch/emergency stop 12V 250A – BPMAIN12

The VETUS BPMAIN12 is a remotely and manually operated battery main switch with emergency stop function for heavy-duty 12V electrical installations on board. The switch makes it possible to centrally interrupt the power supply to high-power consumers and also features a large red button for direct manual operation.

The BPMAIN12 is suitable for a continuous load of up to 250A and can handle a current of 800A for up to 3 minutes. This makes the main switch suitable for installations with high currents, such as bow thrusters, stern thrusters, windlasses and other high-power electrical consumers.

The main switch can be operated electrically from the helm station. In addition, direct manual operation remains possible via the large red emergency button on the unit itself. This allows the power supply to also be interrupted locally when required during maintenance or in an emergency.

The BPMAIN12 is installed in the positive cable of the relevant circuit and should preferably be mounted as close to the battery as possible. The red manual emergency control must remain easily accessible. A correctly rated main fuse must also be installed to protect the wiring.

For remote operation, the BPMAIN12 can be combined with the VETUS BPMRC remote control. When additional cable length is required between the main switch and the control position, the optional BPMEC intermediate cable can be used.
