Volvo Penta water-in-fuel alarm 21641493 is an original sensor and alarm kit for D3, D4 and D6 diesel engines from model year 2011 with a connected engine wiring harness. The sensor is installed in the fuel filter/water separator between the tank and the engine and detects water in the fuel bowl. A warning is displayed on the Volvo Penta instrumentation via the EVC system, so water contamination is detected at an early stage. This helps prevent corrosion, injector damage, poor running or engine shutdown caused by water in the diesel fuel.

Product info:
A new sensor has been developed for D3-D6 engines that fits, for example, fuel filter / water separator 877763, 877768 & 877764. The sensor is connected to the EVC system and provides the alarm on your EVC instrumentation. It also works in parallel with an existing engine-mounted ‘water in fuel’ alarm.
The kit fits D3/D4/D6 engines produced in 2011 and later (with a connected engine wiring harness). For 12 V or 24 V systems.

Water in fuel alarm
To receive an early warning for water in the fuel tank, the best position for a water sensor is in the fuel filter / water separator between the tank and the engine. The sensor detects water in the bowl of the water separator and provides the desired early warning.
