Quick glow pins for Peugeot Indenor entire series and older Volvo Penta AQD and MD engines.
There are MD21B engines with narrow glow plugs these are similar to the OM601/OM602
We usually use the plus from the starter motor as the power supply (Cable lug M10) and then go to a relay number 30 through to the glow plugs themselves with 87.
For this you would need about 2 to 3 metres of 6mm2 power wire . Then all those thick cables to and from your dash could be dropped with the glow eye.
Possibly replace the 4 old intermediate cables between the glowplugs for new fresh ones, but that’s an option.
To control the relay, you need a plus and minus on the 85 and 86 connection. How to does not matter, it is a coil.
In the original situations, you glow through your ignition or glow switch and all the current (4 x 11Ampere) goes through your dashboard.
We avoid this by switching the current from the starter motor with a relay.
Switching on the relay can be done with a small current, a thin 1-2mm2 cable from your glow contact switch is sufficient.
You can indeed use a Indicator light to check if you are actually glowing.
You connect this in parallel after your glow contact switch to ground.
If the glow eye is connected in series to your glowers, it should do as this drawing shows.

Had al een tijdje op het internet gezocht naar de juiste gloeistiften voor mijn 49jaar oude Peugeot Indenor DT166 6 cylinder maar twijfelde steeds of het de juiste waren, op de site van AB Marine Service stonden ook de maten erbij dus kon eigenlijk niet missen want de maten kwamen voor 100% overeen. Op 9 augustus zes stuks besteld en de volgende dag binnen zoals belooft, Top!
AB Marine dank voor de snelle levering en de motor start nu binnen 15 seconden in plaats van de ruim 1 minuut voorgloeien als voorheen, geweldig!!
