Important note:
For BSP threads (British Standard Pipe), the inch size does not correspond to the external diameter of the thread. It is incorrect to measure the diameter of a pipe or skin fitting, for example, and convert from inches to millimeters, as this always leads to incorrect sizes. The internal bore diameter is used for measurement.
