Description
Product info:
The force required to steer a boat equipped with a hydraulic steering system is inversely proportional to the number of wheel turns from lock to lock. The wheel turns are determined by the ratio between the cylinder volume, pump displacement and free movement of the steering system, for example the rudder. A large cylinder volume and a small pump displacement result in a higher number of wheel turns, while a small cylinder volume and a large pump displacement result in fewer wheel turns. Fewer wheel turns means a faster steering response, but more effort is required, while more wheel turns means a slower steering response but less effort. The hydraulic steering pumps are available in three different displacements: 28 cc, 33 cc and 39 cc. Each is available for three different mounting methods: front mounting, rear mounting and tilt mounting. Three steering cylinders are available, all for rudder installations, with volumes of 116 cc, 168 cc and 215 cc respectively.
Relief valve setting: 70 bar
Weight: 5 kg
Note! Order separately when the tilt mechanism is required.
Volvo Penta offers reliable mechanical and hydraulic systems. Both systems have a zero-feedback function, so the steering is not affected by forces such as waves, etc. All Volvo Penta steering wheels are specially adapted to marine conditions, which means they are anti-magnetic and made from corrosion-resistant materials.
