Volvo Penta Coolant VCS-2 (orange) is the next generation coolant specifically developed to replace the VCS coolant. VCS-2 contains new inhibitors that are tailored to the materials used in modern engines. This coolant offers improved protection against corrosion and deposits, and helps prevent cavitation and galvanic corrosion. VCS-2 helps reduce environmental impact and has a change interval of 4 years.

Note: Never mix VCS (yellow) or VCS-2 (orange) coolant with green coolant. Volvo Penta engines were supplied with green or yellow coolant, and these must never be mixed or swapped. Older Volvo Penta diesel engines likely use the green version, while newer diesel engines may have been supplied with yellow or orange VCS-2 coolant. Always use the correct type when replacing the coolant.

Remember to replace the VCS-2 coolant every four years and remove and clean the heat exchanger at least every 5 years (if fitted).

The best results are achieved by using the ready-to-use version, as incorrect dilution can lead to overheating.
