The VETUS BPTD24 is an electronic time delay switch for 24V bow thruster installations with VETUS BPSM or BPJSTA controls. The module prevents the direction of the bow thruster from being switched too quickly from port to starboard or vice versa.

On a bow thruster without time delay, immediate reversing can cause the motor to be driven in the opposite direction while the propeller is still rotating. This creates a high electrical and mechanical load. When the control direction is reversed, the BPTD24 introduces a delay so that the bow thruster can slow down before the opposite direction is engaged.

This protection is particularly practical for rental boats and other vessels operated by different users. The time delay module helps prevent damage caused by switching back and forth too quickly, without the user having to take this into account during manoeuvring.
