VETUS time delay switch 12V for BPSM/BPJSTA – BPTD12

The VETUS BPTD12 is an electronic time delay switch for 12V bow thruster installations with VETUS BPSM or BPJSTA controls. The module prevents the direction of the bow thruster from being switched too quickly from port to starboard or vice versa.

When a bow thruster is driven directly in the opposite direction while the propeller and electric motor are still rotating, high peak currents and heavy mechanical loads can occur. The BPTD12 therefore automatically introduces a short delay before the opposite direction of rotation is activated.

This gives the bow thruster motor time to slow down before it is driven again. This helps protect the electric motor, relays and other components of the bow thruster system against unnecessary load and wear.

The BPTD12 is particularly practical for rental boats and other vessels operated by different users. The integrated protection reduces the risk of damage when the control direction is changed too quickly during manoeuvring.

The module is intended for 12V systems and can be used with VETUS BPSM and BPJSTA controls without integrated time delay. Thanks to the plug connections, the module can be installed between the existing control wiring.
