Volvo Penta D1-13 marine diesel engine

The Volvo Penta D1-13 is a compact 2-cylinder marine diesel engine with a power output of 9 kW / 12.2 HP. The engine is suitable for applications where a reliable, compact diesel engine with heat exchanger cooling is required.

This version includes the engine only. A reverse gear or saildrive is not supplied as standard and can be selected separately depending on the required installation.

Complete and prepared for installation

The engine is supplied with a connection kit including engine mounts and various mounting materials. The dashboard with tachometer and start/stop panel, as well as a standard intermediate cable set, are also included.

This means that several important components for the installation are already supplied, while the drive can be selected separately to suit the boat and existing installation.

Pre Delivery Check and warranty

After installation, a free PDC – Pre Delivery Check – is carried out by a Volvo Penta technician. During this check, the installation is inspected and the boat is test-run with the engine.

After approval, the engine is registered in the Volvo Penta warranty system. The PDC service applies within the Netherlands. For engines delivered outside the Netherlands, please contact us in advance to discuss the available options.

Engine oil and coolant

The required engine oil and coolant are not supplied with the engine as standard and must be ordered separately.

• Engine oil: approx. 1.9 litres including oil filter
• Coolant: approx. 2.7 litres in the closed cooling circuit

Volvo Penta VDS-4.5 engine oil can be used for the engine. Suitable Volvo Penta coolant must be used for the cooling system.

Water heater connected? Please note that a connected water heater increases the total volume of the cooling circuit. As a result, more coolant is required than the standard engine capacity of approx. 2.7 litres. The additional quantity depends on the capacity of the water heater, the length of the hoses and the installation.
