Volvo Penta mechanical steering helm 21580928 is an original rear-mounted planetary steering system for mechanical steering installations on board. This steering helm transfers the rotational movement of the steering wheel to the steering cable, allowing the boat to be steered accurately and reliably. The planetary gear construction distributes the steering force evenly and helps keep steering operation smooth. This helps prevent heavy, inaccurate or play-sensitive steering caused by a worn or damaged steering helm. Note: a ring set is required for installation and must be ordered separately.

De mechanische stuurinrichtingen zijn verkrijgbaar in vier modellen, allemaal met een planetair tandwielontwerp met drie satellietwielen die om hun as draaien en tegelijkertijd rond de centrale stuuras draaien. Dit ontwerp zorgt voor een optimale reductieverhouding met een minimum aan fysieke inspanning, verhoogde efficiëntie en minder koppelterugkoppeling in vergelijking met goedkopere tandwielen met enkel rondsel.

Geen feedback stuurinrichtingen
Een speciaal gepatenteerd apparaat zorgt ervoor dat de roeras kan worden vergrendeld totdat deze door de bestuurder wordt gedraaid, waardoor de richting van de boot behouden blijft en de feedbackbelastingen op de stuurkabel worden geneutraliseerd. Het mechanisme wordt ingeschakeld wanneer de bestuurder druk uitoefent op het wiel om de richting van de boot te veranderen.
