Volvo Penta ring set 3883508 is an original white mounting and finishing set for rear-mounted planetary mechanical steering systems. This ring set is used to install the mechanical steering helm neatly and correctly at a 70° angle in the dashboard or helm console. The set ensures secure fastening, correct alignment and a neat finish around the steering wheel installation. This helps prevent poor fit, play or incorrect installation of the steering helm. This part replaces the older Volvo Penta part number 853183.

De mechanische stuurinrichtingen zijn verkrijgbaar in vier modellen, allemaal met een planetair tandwielontwerp met drie satellietwielen die om hun as draaien en tegelijkertijd rond de centrale stuuras draaien. Dit ontwerp zorgt voor een optimale reductieverhouding met een minimum aan fysieke inspanning, verhoogde efficiëntie en minder koppelterugkoppeling in vergelijking met goedkopere tandwielen met enkel rondsel.

Geen feedback stuurinrichtingen
Een speciaal gepatenteerd apparaat zorgt ervoor dat de roeras kan worden vergrendeld totdat deze door de bestuurder wordt gedraaid, waardoor de richting van de boot behouden blijft en de feedbackbelastingen op de stuurkabel worden geneutraliseerd. Het mechanisme wordt ingeschakeld wanneer de bestuurder druk uitoefent op het wiel om de richting van de boot te veranderen.
