Function of the oil filter

Engine oil is continuously circulated through the engine while it is running. The oil filter removes contamination from this oil flow before the oil is circulated again past components such as bearings, crankshaft, camshaft and other lubricated parts.

Installation

Remove the old filter according to the Solé Diesel maintenance instructions and clean the sealing surface. Check that the old rubber sealing ring has not remained on the engine block.

Lightly lubricate the sealing ring of the new filter with clean engine oil and install the filter according to the specified method. After starting the engine, check the oil level and inspect around the filter for leaks.
