Description
Thermostat Volvo Penta AQ95-130 for a closed circuit cooling system.
The function of the thermostat is to regulate the temperature of the engine.
It regulates the amount of cooling liquid pumped through the engine block, either by opening or closing.
It is very important that the thermostat regulates that the engine does not overheat, but also that the temperature remains within the prescribed optimum operating temperature and therefore does not become too cold.
If the engine remains too hot or too cold, the engine oil can no longer reach the lubrication points of the various rotating parts in the engine block.
After all, the oil is too thin when overheated and no longer lubricates sufficiently, or the oil is too cold. The oil pump does not provide enough pressure so that the oil does not reach the rotating parts to be lubricated.
This leads to excessive wear and tear of the internal moving parts of the engine. A properly functioning thermostat for the Volvo Penta AQ95-130 in a closed cooling system is therefore of great importance.
